Paradyn investing in greater resilience and higher speed connectivity up to 10 Gbps through BT’s Citywest data centre

Paradyn, Ireland’s only end-to-end IT and communications service provider, today announces a €1.2 million cloud connectivity deal with BT Ireland. The agreement will enable Paradyn to provide increased bandwidth up to 10Gbps, resilient connectivity and secure cloud hosting to customers.

As Irish organisations embark on their digital transformation journeys, speed of connectivity has become ever more critical. This, coupled with the growth in demand for flexible mobile working, has fuelled the requirement for increased bandwidth and improved resilience among Paradyn’s customers.

It can also access more than 37 communications carriers globally, via the enhanced cloud connectivity provided through BT Ireland’s Citywest facility in Dublin. This will support customers operating across multiple sites and also allow customers to scale quickly when needed.

The agreement with BT Ireland will enable these bodies to meet stringent regulatory requirements.

Cillian McCarthy, CEO, Paradyn, said: “Secure, reliable and fast connectivity is vital for organisations operating in today’s digital economy. They need guaranteed uptime and absolute assurance that their workloads are safe and to meet those needs, we are announcing this investment in additional cloud and connectivity infrastructure.

Paradyn working in 150K deal with Flow Technology

Paradyn enables mobile working in €150K deal with Flow Technology

Paradyn, Ireland’s only end-to-end IT and communications service provider, today announces that it has designed and implemented a full IT network and system upgrade for process engineering firm, Flow Technology. In a deal valued at €150,000, Paradyn’s solution provides high-speed broadband, increased reliability and security. It also enables flexible mobile working for Flow Technology’s employees.

Established in 1978, the privately-owned process engineering company based in Charleville, Co. Cork, is one of Ireland’s leading process engineering firms that designs, manufactures and installs specialist equipment and systems for the manufacturing sector across the biopharma, pharmaceutical, beverage, food and dairy industries.

Flow Technology has experienced significant growth over the last five years, with staff numbers increasing from 39 to 63 during this time. Annual turnover has also grown almost 10% year-on-year since 2013. Earlier this year, in response to increased customer demand, Flow Technology made significant investment in a second fabrication building that increases its capacity by 250% and provides a world class process module fabrication facility with two five tonne overhead cranes giving it the capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Outdated IT infrastructure and a slow broadband network made mobile working very difficult and staff were also spending a significant amount of time on IT management, these factors were hampering company growth.

Paradyn designed and implemented a full network and IT system upgrade including a new on-site IT command centre where all of Flow Technology’s IT is centrally controlled. This included a highly secure, confidential network along with super-fast wireless broadband, with failover to fixed line broadband. Paradyn also installed a cloud-based solution, so that staff can now work between Flow Technology’s two sites – from home and on the road, thus facilitating mobile working.

Security was a crucial element in the new infrastructure and to protect against cyber-attacks, Paradyn implemented a full disaster recovery plan, including multiple forms of back-up and security on mobile devices. Flow Technology is supported by Paradyn’s fully manned helpdesk.

Cillian McCarthy, CEO, Paradyn said, “The value of this integrated solution for Flow Technology is that our engineers can see all elements of Flow Technology’s IT, security, communications and network infrastructure. This means fast resolution times – 90% of faults get fixed during the first-call, significantly less time spent managing IT and a higher return on Flow Technology’s investment on IT and communications systems.

“Paradyn is Ireland’s only end-to-end managed service solution for IT, telecoms, security, network and business connectivity. As we can build, monitor and securely maintain every aspect of a customer’s IT and communications infrastructure we were well-positioned to provide Flow Technology with a new secure IT infrastructure and high-speed broadband.

“Our engineers monitor all aspects of Flow Technology’s infrastructure from our operations centre, our solution also means that Flow Technology’s employees are spending less time on IT management which increases efficiency while also improving security.”

Kevin Whooley, managing director, Flow Technology said, “Following the tendering process, we knew that Paradyn was the right fit for us as they were capable of manage the entire setup from desktops, to servers to phones to connectivity. The new solution has provided us with an infrastructure that enables mobile working, improves IT reliability and maintains the highest level of security which improves our business performance.

“For us to serve the needs of Flow Technology’s customers and realise our growth targets we needed a secure, reliable, integrated IT infrastructure. Mobile working and security were key elements of the new infrastructure requirements. A large proportion of our customer base are multinationals, making robust information security a critical prerequisite to working with them. The improved mobility capability provides our onsite installation teams, some who are based permanently on customer sites, the ability to work remotely more efficiently and improves communication with our office-based teams and our customers.

“Since we purchased a second building which is more than twice the size of the existing building, we need huge flexibility to be able to have seamless access to our IT infrastructure in both buildings. Similarly, with the new solutions, all our staff – engineers, craft, sales and accounts – can all work remotely giving us greater flexibility and mobility to meet the needs of our customers.

“The investment in the system will pay for itself as little as four years, if not less.”

Paradyn to Double workforce in next two years

Paradyn, a group recently formed from the merger of three separate Irish technology companies, is aiming to double its workforce with the creation of 40 new jobs by 2020.

Company also aiming to double turnover over next three years from €8m to €16m

Dublin & Cork, 5th July 2018 —

The group, which was established earlier this year through the merger of Exigent Networks, Irish Telecom and Netforce, said the newly created roles form part of a €4 million investment.

Paradyn said it has already started recruiting for the new roles with positions available in areas such as finance, network engineering, technical solutions architecture, technical sales and support, marketing and business development

The group provides managed IT, security, network and business connectivity services to more than 30,000 users across 300 customers. Clients include GlaxoSmithKline, Eurofound and Cork County Council.

In addition to doubling its headcount, the company is looking to the same with turnover by increasing revenues to €16 million from €8 million currently.

The group said growth will be driven by the introduction of new services in the areas of security, networking and IT, as well as cross-selling to existing customers, new business wins and acquisitions.

“Acquisition is a key strategy for us. We are on the lookout for other IT, communications and information security businesses which can integrate into the company to add further to our unique ability to deliver more secure and easily managed technology infrastructures to our customers so that they can generate a higher return on investment on their IT and communications systems,” said chief executive Cillian McCarthy.

Exigent Networks, Irish Telecom and Netforce unite under new Paradyn brand in €250K investment

Paradyn is Ireland’s first end-to-end, managed IT, security, networking and business connectivity offering.

Investment includes rebrand, new customer and business operations systems as well as staff integration and training.

The move enables the company to accelerate ambitious growth plans.

Dublin, 15th March 2018 — Exigent Networks, Irish Telecom and Netforce announce that they are officially combining with immediate effect into one united technology group under the new Paradyn brand. This combination creates Ireland’s first integrated group of managed IT, security, network and business connectivity providers. Paradyn brings together the management of 30,000 users in 300 active business and public sector customers.

Today’s news follows Exigent Networks’ October 2016 acquisition of Netforce, the managed IT services provider, and includes a full merger of Exigent Networks and its sister company, Irish Telecom. The newly integrated Paradyn group employs 40 people between Cork and Dublin offices and is now able to offer customers a single source for all on-site and intra-site IT and communications systems.

The company is investing €250,000 in the rebrand and in new customer and business operations systems, including service management, customer relationship management and document management to allow the three teams to work effectively as one. The investment also includes staff integration and cross-training to ensure that first line engineers can deal with all IT and communications service requests.

Cillian McCarthy, Paradyn’s chief executive officer comments: “By merging these three standalone businesses under a single brand, we have a larger customer base, greater expertise and a stronger position for expansion in the Irish and UK markets. We can concentrate marketing resources into promoting one brand and achieve synergies by deepening the great customer relationships that our businesses have. The back-office integration has already happened so that today’s customer facing switch-on will be seamless.”

Paradyn’s vision is to make life easy for customers in the increasingly complex world of technology and this unification of three companies makes sense for customers, as McCarthy explains, “Think of the complexity of managing desktop PCs and servers in a multi-site organisation; with cloud services; back-ups and security; Office 365; broadband connectivity; and unified communications systems. We bring all of this together in a properly thought-out and more secure end-to-end solution.”

Paradyn’s engineers can monitor all aspects of a customer’s infrastructure from its operations centre, enabling fast resolution times and ensuring that it can meet its 90% first-call fix promise. The service also means that customers’ employees are spending less time on IT management which improves system uptime and enables economies of scale for its clients.

McCarthy continued, “We pride ourselves on the relationships we have built with clients and our 98% customer retention rate is testament to this. Although we have a new name, I want to reassure our customers that they can expect an even better level of seamless customer support, while also being able to access the additional end-to-end services and even better technical expertise that we now offer.”

Why the rebrand?

Exigent Networks was founded in May 2007 by Cillian McCarthy, Paul Casey and Rob Norton who all had previous experience in the technology industry. With Exigent Networks already established as a leader in the field of Wireless Networking, just three years later in 2010 Irish Telecom was founded by the same Directors. Irish Telecom became rapidly recognised as a National provider of high quality wireless and fibre broadband. With both companies growing and developing from strength to strength in 2016 an opportunity arose to acquire Netforce. Netforce had made a name in the Irish market by providing sensible, sustainable IT services, solutions and support to SMEs. Since 2000, the company has been an early adopter of innovative solutions. The next natural step in this progress was a rebrand uniting all three successful companies into one End–to–End full ICT provider.
